Having been spoilt in my previous two stays, the Mountbatten Bungalow felt a little worn. Whilst we appreciated the history and location, in my opinion the rooms felt tired and in need of some love; our fridge didn't work and the taps weren't entirely fixed to their basins. The room proportions were bizarre - the bathroom was massive and much bigger than the bedroom - but there was no shelves or storage space in the bathroom to put any basic toiletries The staff were friendly but a little neglectful of our preferences (given it was the off season and they were not even at quarter capacity) - we only stayed two nights and we would have struggled to stay any additional nights, we constantly needed to remind the staff that we were vegetarian after being presented a set menu which offered no vegetarian options. The location with the infinity pool are the best features, the food was average in comparison to what we had received elsewhere.

Nestled in the bottom of the Hanthana Mountain range, the Mountbatten bungalow is a colonial-style property with lovely chalets. Surrounded by greenery and wildlife the property is a great place for relaxation. Mr. Raj (Villa Manager) and his team are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were served in the main building dining hall, but the food was mixed. Nicely maintained garden. Sadly, we had to cut short the trip due to a family emergency but will surely visit the property again.

Feeling and enjoying the colonial time in Kandy on a top location. Overviewing the deep valley and experiencing the peacefullnes of being on an island. Then being served by one of the best hosts of Kandy, Mr Chulan, is an absolute nice experience. And you will feel how royalties were once treated.

Accommodation is either in the house or chalets. We were in the house, which I liked but there were no views from the room. It had a very 'colonial' feel to it. The grounds are beautiful, and the infinity pool - although a bit chilly! - had amazing views. Staff were so friendly, but the food was mixed. We had an early start the first morning to visit Kandy, but the second morning, we were able to sit outside and appreciate the grounds. The hotel is at the end of a very, very windy road with nowhere to walk to that we could see.

Chulan and his team are so warm-hearted and courteous. The hotel is located in a beautiful, quiet landscape in the mountains of Kandy. You are woken up with the chirping of birds. The traditional Sri Lankan food was excellent. We felt very comfortable.
